Baan Sammi Nature Resort is a place where gay seniors or gay sooner-or-later-to-be seniors can find an affordable home for their (future) retirement. We invite you to visit our website, or visit us in person at the resort site, to get an idea how you are finding fulfillment in your years beyond regular employment within our gay residential community located in a pastoral environment, not far from Chiang Mai, the biggest city after Bangkok in gay-friendly northern Thailand.


The first step of developing the main retirement community site (buildings and landscaping) has been done. You will find a natural, esthetically pleasing environment with common areas for recreation. Now we focus on the second step of developing the community itself. This shall depend largely on the gay people who love to live at this location which provides large potential in providing certain features and amenities. For instance, we have adjacent land as well as nearby land for later community growth, where gay couples might build their own villa and pool, for their more private living although connected with the community.

Basic and broad outlines of the community is self-organizing, non-profit, mutual-aid. You will be able to realize your plans and get advice and assistance from other gay people — no company will organize all things for you and grasp at your savings. You may invest, but must not, for your benefit and the benefit of the community.

The initially forming community is thought and designed for active gay older adults with independent-living facilities. The community shall organize providing assisted living as well as skilled nursing and continued care (including fulltime live-in care services) when necessary in the later years.
